GOD'S PROMISE IS FULFILLED

So he was hidden with her in the house of the Lord six years, while Athaliah was reigning over the land. 2 Kings 11:3
Athaliah was greedy that she only wanted to keep the throne for herself or maybe for her future generations that is why she executed those who is from David’s family but God raised up Jehosheba to spare Joash, for the sake of David and God’s promise. Jehoiada, the priest was also concerned with restoring the throne of David to the line of David. He talked to the captains, bodyguards, and escorts about his plan and showed them the true heir of the throne. They glad received the king and when Athaliah learned about it, she accused them of treason. Of course, she thought that she succeeded. Athaliah was slain and Joash began reigning at the age of seven. In his time, they made a covenant between God, the king, and the people. They destroyed Baal’s temple.
Believe in God’s promises, no matter what happens, it will always prevail. When God says so, it will happen. Have faith, i…

JESUS TEACHES US TO PRAY

I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs. Luke 11:8

Jesus went away and prayed, there must be something magnetic about Jesus’ prayer life that made the disciples Him to teach them to pray, not how to pray but to pray that means we need to pray and to pray more and more. This is not just a formula of prayer but a pattern in which Jesus wanted them to learn. When we pray, we should come to God as a Father in heaven, acknowledge that there is none like Him. We should have a passion for God’s glory and agenda. His name, kingdom and will have the top priority in our lives. We should freely bring our needs to God (daily provision, forgiveness, and strength in the face of temptation). The temptation here is literally a test, God promised us not to give us testing more than we can handle. We should ask God shamelessly (asking friend in the middle of the night). We sho…

HALF-WAY OBEDIENCE

But Jehu was not careful to walk in the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart; he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam, which he made Israel sin. 2 Kings 10:31

It is because of God’s wisdom that Jehu planned everything smoothly from the killing of all Ahab’s family and Ahaziah’s family to destroying Baal and its worshippers. Jehu was rewarded for what he did but he only obeyed God half-way. Half-way obedience is disobedience. Though he was successful and reigned for 28 years, God allowed the neighboring country Samaria to conquer large portions of Israel’s territory (this is probably because of his disobedience but it’s not written).
Let us ask for God’s wisdom and allow the spirit to move in our lives, in every decision we are making. But when we do God’s commandments and words, let us do it wholeheartedly. No reservations, No doubts, and questions.
LORD, forgive me for sometimes I obey only what I can obey and oftentimes forget what I am made for. Please help me to …

REJOICE IN WHAT GOD HAD DONE

LUKE CHAPTER 10
The Lord appointed the seventy disciples by twos to become His messengers, they were told the they are many people who are ready to be harvested but the workers are few. In that verse, we sense the urgency in Jesus’ words. Jesus did not only send them but also told Him HOW to do it. They should give blessings to those who receive them and be grateful (God provides, they do not need to beg). Healing is part of their preaching; it showed the power of God. The messengers will surely experience rejection, they were to publicly tell them the price of rejecting Jesus and His kingdom. But comforted them so they won’t take the rejection personally, that when they are rejected, it is Jesus and the Father they are rejecting. Jesus told them to be joyful not because of what they done but because of what God had done for them. Jesus was thrilled with joy because of the Father had done through His workers, that made Him to pray and praise God. The messengers are not scholars, but onl…

COST OF FOLLOWING CHRIST

“And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:23‬
This is what happened to Jesus. Jesus is expecting everyone who wants to follow Him be the same as Him. To deny themselves (just like when He became human), take up their cross (be led to death to gain resurrection to life).
In order to gain the resurrection to life, we must die first. Dying to oneself, not feeding our fleshly desires, suffering because of Christ—cost of following Jesus.
It may be hard, but it will be worth, especially when we know we will someday be with Jesus forever and ever.
Lord, help us to always deny ourselves and take up our crosses. Help us to accept all the sufferings ans not depart from you. Help us to be like you. In Your Name I pray, Amen.

GOD’S PERFECT TIMING

“As he was relating to the king how he had restored to life the one who was dead, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life appealed to the king for her house and for her field. And Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, this is the woman and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.” ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭8:5
Gehazi was the servant of Elijah, the prophet cursed. He was familiar with Elisha’s works, perhaps out of curiosity, he was telling the king about the marvelous things Elisha had done. And as he was talking about the woman, whose son the prophet restored to life, the woman came to the king to make her request. She was granted, maybe because of the fact that God supported her that he should as well.
What a perfect and God-ordained timing. The servant backed up the woman, that made the king grant her request. Let us trust God’s timing and not rush into things. God knows what he is doing. When we pray, He know when we need the answer, be patient.
Thank you Lord for your perfect timing. Wh…

THE TRUTH OF GOD

“For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:17‬
The truth from God is meant to be revealed. Not meant to be hidden. If we become light of the world, we are to share it to others so they may see Jesus.
If we have the truth of God, heard the good news, it is not meant to just be kept under the bed. We are responsible to spread the truth. God didn’t light our lamp so that it would be hidden.
Lord, thank you for the truth. Thank you for your word. Help us to spread the truth to the world, not be ashamed of it. Help us to keep your word in our hearts all the days of our lives. In Jesu’ Name, Amen.

THE DANGER OF UNBELIEF

“The royal officer on whose hand the king was leaning answered the man of God and said, “Behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” Then he said, “Behold, you will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat of it.” ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭7:2‬
God spoke to the nation through Prophet Elisha. Through him, He promised of great provision to the Samarians but one officer doubted the word of the Lord, perhaps because of the circumstances, his unbelief made him question the Prophet.
Our unbelief sometimes is based on what is going on around us and oftentimes, we doubt God’s word. Instead of doubting, let us remember who God is and what He has done for us. Unbelief is a sin, and sin lead to death.
LORD, forgive me for questioning you sometimes. Help me not to doubt your word. We know that we never lack for always provide food on our table. Help me to be grateful. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
