“Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!”” ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭2:23‬ ‭NASB‬‬
Perhaps Elisha felt really sad for his master Elijah is no more, but of course, he knew that it is all for the good. He kept on serving God and go on his way. And while on his way, young people insulted him, so he cursed him in the name of the Lord. And two female bears devoured the 42 of them, meaning there maybe more of them just to insult the servant of God.
Elisha had a big respect to his master Elijah and to God, that’s why it’s kinda sad to see people insulting him, it is like insulting God.
Though servants of God are also human beings like us. They were called and assigned by God. Let’s give respect to them as we give to God. After all, it is all God’s doing.
LORD, forgive me for sometimes insulting your servants in my heart. Help me to respect them through my actions and wor…

“So he again sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. When the third captain of fifty went up, he came and bowed down on his knees before Elijah, and begged him and said to him, “O man of God, please let my life and the lives of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight.” ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭1:13‬ ‭NASB‬‬
The captain showed his humbleness by acknowledging who Elijah is to God. He also knew that God is powerful because of what happened to the others. He showed concern to his armies by pleading for their lives to Elijah.
Perhaps the king wanted to hear the words his servant told him from the very mouth of Elijah, or wanted to have Elijah killed because he did not like what he heard, whatever is the reason, he wanted to see Elijah.
Though the captain knew he was the servant of the king, he never failed to acknowledge the sovereignty of God.
Oftentimes in our lives, we seek other for answers. Let us always turn to God for answers with humbleness. With humility, we can get respons…

“For nothing will be impossible with God.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:37‬
Everything is according to the word of the Lord. Everything happens according to His purpose. John was born first to prepare everything for the Lord. Even though what happened to Elizabeth and Mary may seem impossible, it happened, because again nothing is impossible with God.
This scripture tells us that we have nothing to worry about, for God is the God of impossible. Let us always remember that.
LORD, you know my heart, oftentimes I doubt. Forgive me! Help me to have faith in you always, whatever situations I am in. Help me to see things with your eyes. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will persuade him. And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.” ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭22:21-22‬
Us humans want to hear what our ears are itching for. Just like the king of Israel, he does not want hear evil things concerning him especially from prophet Micaiah, though the prophet told him everything, he doubted and refused to listen instead he put him in jail and went into the battle in disguised to divert the syrians, but of course as the Lord said, the lying spirit will prevail, the king died into the battle.
The Lord is never a liar, when he says it will happen, it will happen no matter how smart we are, no matter how strong we are. But the Lord gives us several warnings to help us, repent from our sins. God does not tolerate sins, He would do anything to elimina…

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15‬
Mary Magdalene and others told the disciples about Jesus, for He appeared to them firsthand but they did not believe them. Even though, it was heartbreaking that the Eleven did not believe. Still Jesus cares for them and trusts them, so He appeared to them and given them a commandment. And with His help, they were able to fulfill it.
Though we are imperfect, and still human beings. Jesus trusts us enough to fulfill His commandments to us. Let us not break His trust. And we will be able to do His Word with Him working in us. So Let us abide in Him always.
LORD, thank you for entrusting me with your word me. Help me to not doubt but to just believe in you and your words. And with your spirit, I will be able to do your commandments. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the Lord.” ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭21:20‬
Do you still have unconfessed sins? Sometimes we commit sins unconciously, we are not aware we commit it, but the Holy Spirit is never silent to convict us of what we did wrong, of what is not pleasing to God.
God does not tolerate sins, He always makes sure we know what we did. We don’t have any excuses, and we can’t say we don’t because eveything is already written in the bible. Everything we need to know.
Confess your sins now.
Lord, I am a sinful man and in need of a Saviour. Help me to overcome selfishness, lust and pride. Help me to do what is right in your sight. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭15:25‬
Let us always remember Jesus’ sacrifice. And live everyday declaring that we are for Him. Let us never put His sacrifice in vain.
Declare publicly that we are for JESUS. Let us not be ashamed of Him.
Lord, I thank you for your sacrifice help me to always remember that. I love you and help me to not be ashamed of what you are and what you’ve done. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
